About the Amazing Tea Race
The Amazing Tea Race is an immersive and educational journey through the true heart of tea: the tea farms. Our philosophy at Tealet is Direct Trade: creating genuine, transparent connections between buyers and their tea farmers. To achieve this, we spend our time right on the tea fields, getting to know the growers, teamakers, culture, and industry issues behind the teas.
What You'll Learn:
- The craft of tea: Trace your tea from leaf to cup. Understand terroir (the influence of the environment), tea processing, and tea preparation.
- The state of the tea industry: Get to know the issues first hand: environmental concerns, ethical practices, and economic influences. Learn how you can help create a better future for tea and your tea business.
- The culture of tea: Immerse yourself in the people, places, and communities behind your teas. Understand and participate in authentic tea culture and traditions on the tea farms.
Join the Amazing Tea Race
The Amazing Tea Race is open to tea professionals only. Our travels are in small, intimate groups of no more than 5-8 people. This helps us maintain focus on the task at hand: to learn as much as possible about tea, and to create a genuine connection with the tea farms.
Please be ready to travel to remote tea farms, hike up rugged mountains, and be patient with obstacles like language barriers and cultural differences. If you are ready, the journey is incredibly rewarding.

Packages are priced with the small business budget in mind, and the trip is customized to each traveler in terms of pricing and dates.
